Entering In/Out Minutes for Student Attendance

Before you begin

  • In and out time tracking must be enabled.

  • The student for whom you are entering in/out minutes must have an attendance record for the same day.

  1. Select Menu > Administrative Access > Student.
  2. Select Student Profile under Features.

    Alternatively, you can add in/out minutes for a student by navigating to Menu > Administrative Access > Attendance and then selecting Attendance Entry by Student under Features. Skip to step 8.

    Expected Result

    You see the Student Profile for the first student listed alphabetically in the entity or for the last student whose profile you had open.

  3. Verify you are in the correct Entity and school year by checking the information at the top left of the screen.
  4. Begin entering the student's name in the Student search field near the top left of the screen.
    Expected Result

    Students with similar names appear in a drop-down list. If necessary, continue entering more of the student's name until it appears in the list.

  5. Select the student from the drop-down list.

    You see the Student Profile for the student you selected.

  6. Select the Attendance tab group at the left of the screen.
  7. Select the Selected Year sub-tab.

    You see existing attendance records for the student.

  8. Click the Open icon to the left of the attendance record where you wish to record in or out minutes.

    You see the General tab of the Student Attendance Details screen.

  9. Under the Student In/Out Times heading, click Add Student In/Out Time near the right of the screen.

    You see the Add a Student In/Out Time screen.

  10. Enter the Time In or click the Clock icon to enter the current time, if appropriate.

    Entering only a time in indicates the student was absent until the time in entered.

  11. Enter the Time Out or click the Clock icon to enter the current time, if appropriate.

    Entering only a time out indicates the student was present until the time out entered.

  12. Choose one of the options near the top left of the screen to save your work.

    Saves the in or out time and refreshes the Add a Student In/Out Time screen so you can add another.

    Save

    Saves the in or out time and you return to the General tab of the Student Attendance Details screen, which displays the student in or out time record you created.
