Creating Drug Codes

Note: You do not need to create these codes for your state's reporting requirements.
Drug codes specify which Drugs were involved in an Incident when you create a drug-related incident record. For example, if drugs are found in a student's locker, you can use a Drug code to identify what type of drug was discovered.

Drug codes are District-defined and apply to the entire district.

Procedure

Let's create a Drug code. To create a drug code, we need to go into the Discipline module. Within the Discipline module, we need to find Drug within the Codes area. From here, we can select Add Drug. We can enter in the drug code that we would like to create. For this video, we're going to create the Drug Code of Marijuana. Once you have entered in the code in the description, you can select Save and Add Another if there's another drug code you would like to create. However, if you have created all of the drug codes that you would like to use, you can select Save. Once you have selected Save, it will bring you back to the Drug List screen where you can see the drug code that you have just created. And that's all you need to do to create a drug for the drug codes within the Discipline module.


  1. Select Menu > Administrative Access > Discipline.
  2. Select Drug under Codes.

    You see the Drug List, which displays existing Drugs codes.

  3. Verify you are in the correct District and school year by checking the information at the top left of the screen.

    These codes are available district-wide and can be modified from any entity within the district.

  4. Click Add Drug near the top right of the screen.

    You see the Add Drug screen.

  5. Enter a Drug Code to identify the drug.

    For example, you could enter MJ.

  6. Enter a Drug Description to further define the drug.

    For example, you could enter Marijuana.

  7. Choose one of the options near the top left of the screen to save your work.
    Option Description
    Save & Add Another Saves the Drug code and refreshes the Add Drug screen so you can add another.
    Save Saves the Drug code and you return to the Drug List, which displays the Drug code you created.
