Generating Missing Assignments Report

The Missing Assignments report is a software-supplied report that enables you to determine if there are any students who have missing assignments for a course. The date range for the report determines which assignments will be checked. This report provides detailed information about the assignments that were missed, such as the student's name, Student Number, grade level, the Assignment, and the Assigned Date. For example, you could run this report to determine if students in your Biology course are missing a term paper that was assigned.

Generating the Missing Assignments report allows you to view the students who have missing assignments for a course. Within Teacher Access, we’ll head over to the Missing Assignments report within the Gradebook module. From here, we could choose a prompt template or create a new one if needed. The section we want to run this report for will need to be defined here. If we want to limit the report by student, we could fill out the Full Name Range Low and High fields, or the Grade Level Range Low and High fields. We could also filter by specific students using the Students Based on Ranges Above field. The Group By, For This Class Only, Exclude Dropped Students, Exclude Students Without Missing Assignments, and Due Date Range fields are correct for this example, so we’ll leave those as they are. If we wanted to narrow down the results that display on our report by a certain grading period, that could be done here as well. We don’t want to hide assignment details, so we’ll select No for the corresponding field. Let’s page break by student for this example. If we wanted to hide the signature line, we could leave Yes selected. For this example, we’ll update this to be No so a parent signature line displays on the reports. We could also determine how the students’ names will display. For our example, it can be left as is. Once we've set the prompts the way we’d like, we can select Run Report. The report displays according to our selections. Now that you know how to generate the Missing Assignments report, you can be sure that you’re staying on top of students’ missing assignments!
