Attaching a File to Gradebook Assignment

You can add attachments to assignments if students need additional documentation or other resources to complete the assignment, such as a reference table or hard copy of the assignment.

Let's explore attaching files to Gradebook assignments. We are going to select the Menu, Teacher Access, Gradebook, and then Gradesheet. If you’re taken to the gradesheet for a particular class, you can use the Class List option at the top right and then select the tile for the appropriate class. We’re going to scroll to the right to find the assignment we wish to add an attachment to, and click the header, and then choose Assignment Details. The we’ll choose the Attachments tab on the left and add an attachment. We can go into the Select Files option, which takes us out to our computer, where we can locate the file we wish to attach. We now need to identify the Attachment Type. If we’d like, we can specify a Comment about the assignment. If we select the show in student and family access option, students and guardians will be able to view this attachment as well. Once we Save, we’re brought back to the Attachments tab where we can see the attachment that has been added to the assignment. This has been attaching files to Gradebook assignments.

  1. Select Menu > Teacher Access > Gradebook.
  2. Select Gradesheet under Features.
    Alternatively, you can add an Assignment by navigating to Menu > Teacher Access > Gradebook and then selecting Assignments under Features. The screen for adding an assignment is the same regardless of your starting point.
  3. Click the class tile that contains the Assignment you wish to add an attachment to.

    If you see a specific Gradesheet and need to switch classes, click Class List near the top right of the screen. Then you can click the tile for the appropriate class.

  4. Click the header of the assignment where you wish to attach a file.
  5. Select Assignment Details from the menu.
  6. Select the Attachments tab at the left of the screen.
  7. Click Add Attachment near the top right of the window.
  8. Complete the appropriate fields.
    1. Click the Choose Files icon to select the file you wish to upload.
    2. Locate and open the desired file.
    3. Enter the Attachment Type or click the Down Arrow icon to choose from the drop-down list.
    4. Enter a Comment about the attachment if appropriate.
    5. Check the box for Show in Student/Family Access if appropriate.
  9. Click Save near the top left of the screen to save your work.
