Customizing your report with the Report Designer is a simple, user-friendly process that anyone can master. The tabs and options found on the left of the screen change depending on the type of line selected. For example, if we select the page footer line instead of the data line, the Fields and Calculated Fields tabs go away and the Aggregate Fields tab displays. The Formatting/Properties options also change depending on what is selected above. If a section is selected, such as the Name section, information about that section displays. If a line is selected, we’ll see formatting tools to customize how that line appears. When a field is selected, we can then modify the properties of the text within that field. The menu on the left can be modified to see more or fewer details by dragging it. Additionally, the panel for the tabs on the left and the Formatting/Properties options can be collapsed to get a better view of the screen.
